Prof. Dr. Constanze Rossmann has held the Chair of Communication with a focus on Health Communication at the Department of Media and Communication at LMU Munich since October 2021 and has been Department Director since October 2024. From 2014 to 2021 she was Professor of Communication with a focus on Social Communication at the University of Erfurt, from 2017 to 2021 Vice Dean for Research at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and from 2019-2021 Vice President of the Erfurt Laboratory for Empirical Research at the University of Erfurt. She has worked as a visiting professor in Hanover, Mainz and Zurich, as Visiting Scholar at the University of Lugano, Switzerland, at the NTU Singapore and at the University of Haifa, Israel. She completed her doctorate at LMU Munich and habilitated there in the field of communication. Her research focuses in particular on strategic health communication, digital health communication and crisis communication in the health sector. Fields of application are chronic diseases, vaccination, physical activity and planetary health. She is co-initiator and former spokesperson of the Health Communication Section of the German Communication Association (DGPuK) and co-founder of the Master's degree program in Health Communication at the University of Erfurt, which was introduced in 2017. She is also spokesperson for the DFG research unit “Digital Media in Chronic Disease Self-Management (DISELMA)”, a member of the Standing Vaccination Committee at the Robert Koch Institute (STIKO), the Scientific Advisory Board of the Federal Institute of Public Health (BIÖG) and the BfR Commission for Risk Research and Risk Perception as well as Executive Board Member of the Munich Science Communication Lab (MSCL).
