MaxQDA is software for qualitative text analysis. The IFKW makes MaxQDA available to communication students via Remote Desktop (Instructions for Remote Desktop Access).
- Once you've logged in, you'll find the following on the Remote Desktop
- either an icon for the current version of MaxQDA on the desktop
- Or you can select the search box (press the Windows key) and type "maxqda" there.
- After the initial launch, you must accept both the license agreements and the privacy policy.
- After launching MaxQDA, you'll see all the projects on your personal H: drive.
Problem Solving
- If MaxQDA does not automatically log in with the correct license, click "Connect with a network license" in the overview.
- In the following window, please verify that the correct server address, "maxqda.ifkw.lmu.de," and port 21990 are entered. Then select "Search for License Automatically" and click "Update."
- After a brief search, a current MaxQDA license should appear. Please click on it and then click "Connect."
- If the automatic license search does not return any results, please double-check that your settings are correct and contact helpdesk@ifkw.lmu.de.
