After several years of practical experience in journalism and the advertising industry, Maximilian Lechner studied Communication Science B.A. and M.A. (Bachelor's degree with a minor in Sociology) at the Institute of Communication Science and Media Research at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from 2018 to 2023.
Since October 2023, he has been working as a research assistant in the DFG research project “Media usage strategies - internal structures, measurement and socio-structural distribution” in the research area of Prof. Dr. Benjamin Krämer in cooperation with the University of Leipzig. His research interests lie in the area of audiovisual media use with a focus on music, alternative media and conspiracy narratives as well as religious fanaticism and esotericism.
